Coffee Hour:SHARING HARDSHIP, SHARING HOPE: CENTER FOR DEVELOPMENT IN CENTRAL AMERICA (CDCA)
October 17, 10am
As we in the U.S. struggle through hard times of our own, we can have more appreciation for the situation of our brothers and sisters in Nicaragua. Plenty and comfort in the First World have always meant poverty and hardship in the rest of the world. But the current generation of Nicaraguans has experienced a devastating earthquake, life under a cruel dictator (supported by the U.S.), two wars (funded by the U.S.), and the second deadliest hurricane in the past 200 years – all in their own lifetimes. And yet they still hope. Sharing Hardship, Sharing Hope is the story of the Center in Development in Central America’s 15 years of working with some of the poorest folks in the Americas to create self-sufficient, sustainable, democratic communities.
