About the film: A searing examination of the tensions surrounding the presence of Mexican day laborers in a small Long Island town has been named a DIRECTV/IFC Truer Than Fiction finalist. For nearly a year, directors Carlos Sandoval and Catherine Tambini lived and worked in Farmingville, New York, so they could capture first-hand how the shocking hate-based attempted murders of two Mexican day laborers catapult the Long Island town of Farmingville into national headlines, unmasking a new front line in the border wars: suburbia.
