Members of the Haiti Justice Committee will discuss the ongoing recovery efforts, the numerous local groups responding with relief aid, and what we can be looking for in the official US response that will signal a new relationship with the Haitian people, including a recognition of the sovereignty of the Haitian government. Joelle Vitiello, Chair of the French Dept., Macalester College, was an eye-witness to the earthquake, and local Haitian-Americans have been in contact with family and colleagues in Haiti.
