As a community-based organization, we believe that it is important to make connections to issues and concerns in the United States and Latin America in order to make the education and empowerment of people in this country more effective and enduring.

Placing an Order

There is no sales tax on out of state orders. You may also call the office to pay by credit card 612-276-0788 x3.

Central American Children Speak: Our Lives and Our Dreams (DVD/VHS)

Winner of the National Educational Media Networks’ Bronze Apple Award, this video opens in a Minneapolis classroom where fourth-graders ask questions about their peers in Central America. It then shows the daily lives of children in Guatemala and Nicaragua, beautifully illustrating that all kids have similar dreams, fears, and hopes.

Latino Voices: Stories of Latin American Immigrants and their Impact in a Community

Latino Voices

This exciting 60-page collection of stories amplifies the voices of immigrants to the Twin Cities from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Colombia, Bolivia, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, and Chile. In gripping detail, 18 immigrants share why they left their countries, how they journeyed north to Minnesota, the challenges they have faced here, and their hopes for the future. The book also includes background information about each country.

In addition to the Latino Voices, the publication includes interviews with five long-time residents who have been deeply affected by their contact with the Latino community. Their stories demonstrate ways in which people are becoming acquainted and building bridges.
