After President Ollanta Humala’s state visit to Venezuela Jan 7, and despite some adverse reactions to the visit in Peru, Humala announced that the two countries have “succeeded in turning away from the bilateral politics of the past in which nothing major had been accomplished in diplomatic, commercial and cultural relations.”
Después de la visita de Estado del presidente Ollanta Humala a Venezuela el pasado 7 de enero, y frente a las reacciones adversas que ha suscitado dicho encuentro en el Perú, este ha señalado que “se ha logrado voltear la página de la política bilateral que se llevó en el pasado, en la cual no se avanzó gran cosa en las relaciones diplomáticas, comerciales y culturales con ese país.” En efecto, se lograron nueve acuerdos en los ámbitos comercial, energético, educativo, social, complementación económica y productiva, regulación migratoria, entre otros.
