Esta semana se reanudan en Singapur las negociaciones del Acuerdo Transpacífico, un proyecto anunciado por sus promotores como el más grande y ambicioso tratado comercial. Participan 11 países: Australia, Brunei, Canadá, Chile, Estados Unidos, Malasia, México, Nueva Zelanda, Perú, Singapur y Vietnam. Se dice que será un instrumento para el crecimiento, el empleo y la prosperidad. Esa es la promesa, pero la realidad será distinta.

Threat of the Trans-Pacific Agreement

This week negotiations begin again in Singapore on the Transpacific agreement, a project hailed by its promoters as the biggest, most ambitious trade agreement ever. Eleven countries participate: Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, United States, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zeeland, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam. It’s billed as a tool for growth, employment and prosperity, but the reality will be quite different.
